Wild Goose Chase and Migratory Bird Management were both founded 27 years ago after our founder, Susan Hagberg, experienced an eye-opening sight while on a family vacation. Strolling through Washington D.C., Susan witnessed the Nation’s monuments—symbols of pride and history—swarmed by geese and covered in their droppings, making these public spaces less accessible and enjoyable for everyone. That moment sparked a mission: to help communities and businesses reclaim their spaces from nuisance bird problems.
Susan launched Wild Goose Chase and Migratory Bird Management with a fleet of working border collies, pioneering humane bird control through canine harassment services. What started as a solution for goose management in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana has grown into something much broader.
Over nearly three decades, we’ve expanded our expertise far beyond those early days. Today, we offer comprehensive bird management solutions including egg depredation, structural exclusions like netting and bird slides, and cutting-edge technological deterrents such as bird lasers. We’ve also grown our service area and our capabilities to address challenges from over 20 different bird species.
Why We’re Updating Our Brand
Our new logo and website reflect this evolution. You’ll notice the bird in our logo has become more generic—and that’s intentional. While we’re proud of our goose-chasing heritage, we wanted our visual identity to represent the full scope of what we do today. Whether you’re dealing with pigeons at an industrial facility, starlings at a farm, or gulls at a commercial property, we’re equipped to help.
The refreshed brand also signals our commitment to being at the forefront of bird biology and bird control technology, investing in science-based solutions to allow us to serve more clients across more regions with more comprehensive solutions.
What Hasn’t Changed
While our look is new, our core remains the same. Our team’s mission continues to be to design & deploy science-based solutions to mitigate conflict between birds, people and property. The same leadership and service team is committed to your success. We will continue to prioritize compliant, humane bird control methods that respect wildlife, while following the letter of the law and protecting your property and people.
Our new brand isn’t about becoming a different company—it’s about honestly representing who we’ve grown to be while staying true to the values that started it all. We’re still Wild Goose Chase, just ready to serve you better than ever.
