Meet the Team of Wild Goose Chase, Inc.

Wild Goose Chase has two Biologists and an Environmental Biologist on staff, as well as seven full time managers and twenty part time professionals who are all trained and licensed. Our handlers are mature, responsible, and professionally minded individuals who take their jobs seriously. Our people, dogs, equipment and knowledge enable us to get the job done in a quick but safe manner with the least amount of disturbance to your business.

Susan Hagberg, President

With a degree in horticulture from the University of Illinois, much of Sue's career has been in commercial landscape management. During those years, she experienced inadequate solutions to the increasing Canada goose problems in the Chicagoland area. Sue began researching the biology of the goose and finding successful solutions to managing their populations. She launched Wild Goose Chase, Inc. and has been successfully managing Canada goose related issues since 1998.

Gordon Hagberg, Vice President & Secretary

Gordon has a degree in finance and a minor in marketing from Northern Illinois University. Much of Gordon's career has been in the construction industry. His key areas of expertise were specialty materials, project management and consulting. Gordon worked for several Fortune 100 companies before joining Wild Goose Chase, Inc.

Carla Wagner, Staff Biologist

Carla graduated in 2002 from Augustana College with a degree in biology, and a concentration in environmental science. She brings expertise from internships with the National Park Service in New Mexico and the Natural Resource Conservation Service in western Illinois. Ms. Wagner is now a qualified airport wildlife biologist, having recently completed the Wildlife Hazard Management Workshop at Embry-Riddle in Florida. Carla was a presenter on the topic of Managing Wildlife at Business Aviation Airports at the International Bird Strike Committee Conference 2006 held in Athens, Greece. Carla is acknowledged as an expert on the science of managing Canada geese, having done many presentations. Carla also holds a trappers' license for egg depredation and has extensive experience in animal care. She is a member of the Wildlife Society.

Bryan Gibbons, Account Manager

Bryan attended Illinois College with a degree in progress in biology and ecology. In 1997 he worked closely with the Environmental Science department of Illinois College to develop research on the migratory patterns of waterfowl on Lake Jacksonville. Most of Bryans past experience has been in landscape management, as well as a successful home inspection business operator and consultant. Currently he holds many Illinois State licenses, including a Nuisance Wildlife Control permit for egg depredation and a license for pesticide and spray applications.

Greg Logan, Staff Biologist

Greg graduated from Augustana College in 1999 with a degree in biology. He has a background in natural area restoration with removal of invasive/nonnative species of plants and trees. Greg has been involved in water quality, plant surveys and dredging projects. Greg also holds an Illinois State license for herbicide and spray applications.

Yvonne Stokes, Environmental Biologist

In 2007, Yvonne completed a Masters Degree in Environmental Biology from Governors State University with an undergraduate degree from Saint Xavier University in Biology where she received the Excellence in Biological Research Award in 2002. She has presented papers at the Midwest Ecology and Evolution Conference (MEEC) at Notre Dame University in 2004 and the Ecological Society of America (ESA) Conference in Memphis, Tenn. in 2006 on the carnivorous plant Sarracenia purpurea L. (purple pitcher plant). Yvonne brings to WGC expertise in conducting field research, experimental design and statistics using MARK and SAS. She also holds an Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation & Management Training Certificate and a Class A Nuisance Wildlife Control Permit specific to Waterfowl. She is a member of the Tri Beta Biological Honor Society, Ecological Society of America (ESA) and the Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS).

Mike Poremba, Field Operations Manager

Although still working towards an official degree in Biology, Mike has been building his education, and passion for animals all his life. His intense love for dogs, and all previous jobs having been customer service oriented, prompted him to pursue a new career as a dog trainer, and in 2006 he found us, and according to him, his dream job! After 5 months as a part-time Handler, Mike assumed the role of full-time Dog Trainer/ Handler, learning from some of our more seasoned veterans. He soon added Field Operations Manager/Account Manager to his growing list of duties. Recently Mike graduated from Animal Behavior College as a Certified Dog Trainer, as well as obtaining his Nuisance Wildlife Control permit for Waterfowl. His is a longtime member of Defenders of Wildlife and the National Wildlife Federation.

Domingo Kaller, Account Manager

Domingo graduated in 2002 from North Central College with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology. He brings with him the experience of 4 years of service as a park ranger for the National Park Service, National Forest Service and New Mexico State Monuments. He is experienced in exotic plant removal in a variety of settings including Illinois, New Mexico, and Costa Rica. Domingo joined Wild Goose Chase as a dog handler (dogs truly are his “favorite people”) and has recently accepted a position as an account manager for our southern region. He also is an active member of the Will County Search and Rescue Team where he recently received a meritorious service award from Will County IL for saving a life. He is in the process of training his German shepherd on “scent work” so that he can join Domingo in his search and rescue activities. Domingo is currently working towards his EMT certification, and is a member of the Defenders of Wildlife and as well as PETA.

Pat Halloran, Account Manager

Pat has a Bachelor Of Arts Degree from Lewis University. After almost thirty years of experience in the insurance industry, Pat joined Wild Goose Chase in 2008 as a dog handler. As a lifelong lover of dogs and the outdoors, working for Wild Goose Chase has been a perfect fit.

In 2009, Pat accepted the additional position of Account Manager for the North Territory, enabling him to put the marketing, customer service and sales and skills acquired from his previous business experience to use at Wild Goose Chase.

Travis McCormack, Field Operations/Account Manager

Travis comes to us with the experience of owning and operating his own small business in the flooring profession. Travis realized that after years of hard work, that he was not yet fulfilled. Travis is an active outdoorsman and dog lover, where he spends most of his spare time.

Travis joined us in early 2008 as a dog handler, finding his love for the outdoors and dogs, was something he didn’t have to do just as a hobby. He has put his acquired skills to work for us, and has recently accepted the position of Field Operations Manager/Account Manager, serving our Wisconsin team, Migratory Bird Management.
